Manhole Rehab and Coating for Commercial Properties

A manhole on a commercial lot carries the same wastewater as the sewer line it sits on, and over the years its walls wear down. Pipe InterTech restores manholes and coats them with an epoxy lining, for restaurants, shopping centers and other commercial properties in the Houston, Dallas and Austin areas.

What manhole rehab means

Rehabilitation restores a worn manhole in place instead of digging it out and setting a new one. Our part of that work is the coating: a lining on the inside wall that stands between the concrete and the wastewater.

The coating we use: Raven 405

We coat manholes with Raven 405, the coating we use to meet city requirements. Its maker, PPG, describes Raven 405 as an epoxy lining for wastewater with high physical strength and broad chemical resistance.

Signs a manhole needs work

  • Crumbling or soft concrete on the walls or around the opening
  • Exposed or rusted metal in the walls
  • Water running in through cracks or joints
  • A strong sewer smell around the cover

Do not open a manhole or climb into one to look: sewer gases can make the air inside unsafe. If the cover is loose, broken or the ground around it is sinking, keep people and vehicles away from it and call. A manhole in the street belongs to the city; call the city about that one.

Part of the same line

A manhole is one piece of the line that carries your building’s wastewater. We also line damaged 3 to 8 inch pipes on the same line, and inspect the line with a camera.
